Easy 3D Flower with Boutique Blossoms | Stampin’ Up!

Have you ever made a card that looks much more complicated than it really is? That is exactly what I love about this easy 3D flower card.

For this project, I used the Boutique Blossoms Stamp Set, the coordinating dies, and the Scalloped Blooms Bundle to create a layered flower that really pops off the card front.

The technique is simple: stamp and die cut the flower more than once, add a little selective colouring, then layer the pieces with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I also used the beautiful Bloom Boutique Specialty Designer Series Paper. It has little touches of gold in the design, so I added a narrow strip of Gold Foil to bring that shine into the card layout.  See the complete list of supplies at the end of this post.

In the video, I show you how to stamp, colour, die cut, and layer the flower pieces to create the 3D effect. You’ll also see two different colour versions using some of the new 2026–2028 In Colors.

How to Create the 3D Flower

The trick to this card is that you do not need to colour the entire flower. I used the Hydrangea Hue Stampin’ Blends to add colour only where the shadows would naturally fall. Once the flower pieces are layered together, your eye fills in the rest.

I stamped the flower in Basic Black Hybrid Ink. This new ink gives a lovely dark stamped image, but I do recommend letting it dry for a few minutes before colouring so it does not smear.

For extra sparkle, I added Wink of Stella to the Hydrangea Hue flower. On the Crisp Cantaloupe version (see it below), I used the Crisp Cantaloupe Shimmer Brush instead, which gives both colour and shimmer at the same time.

Try the Same Card in Different Colours

One of my favourite things about this card layout is how easy it is to change the look just by switching the colours.

For the first version, I used Hydrangea Hue with Lemon Lime Twist leaves for a bright, fresh look.

For the second version, I used Crisp Cantaloupe with Peaceful Pine leaves. This gives the card a softer, elegant feel.

Bloom Boutique Designer Series Paper

The Bloom Boutique Specialty Designer Series Paper is beautiful on its own, but it is also very easy to coordinate because it includes the 2026–2028 In Colors. I love the little gold details in the paper, especially when paired with a narrow strip of Gold Foil.

Stamp Sets and Dies Used

The Boutique Blossoms Bundle and Scalloped Blooms Bundle work really nicely together. Boutique Blossoms gives you the pretty floral images and coordinating dies, while Scalloped Blooms includes useful greetings and layering dies.

I hope this project inspires you to try layering your stamped flowers. It is such an easy way to add dimension and make a handmade card feel extra special.

Happy stamping!
