Rustic Poinsettia Christmas Card with Gold Accents

Poinsettias, red, gold and glimmer all just say “Christmas” to me.  I love the look of the rustic-looking box to house the Poinsettias on this card and the pretty gold embossed words and the gold centres of the Poinsettias.  There is even gold in the gems and the ribbon.  And finally, did you notice the card base?  The gold card base is from Stampin’ Up! Brushed Gold Cards & Envelopes.

These pre-cut and pre-scored cards and matching envelopes are a great way to speed up your card-making. Plus, they have a beautiful, rustic design that would be hard to replicate with stamps.  I love how the envelopes and cards match for a very elegant-looking project. At the end of this post, I also have a card that is not Christmas, and it also looks great with these gold cards.

I used a Blending Brush on this card to lightly blend some green ink over the front of the card. You can see all the supplies below.  And you can see the full process for making this card in my video.

I coloured the Poinsettia and the rustic-looking crate with the Stampin’ Blends Markers (see more about Stampin’ Up!’s Blends markers here).  I used the Color Lifter to lighten the tips of the petals as if the colour is lighter.

I created the centre of the Poinsettias with a fun rustic technique. I used Mini Glue Dots and the Gilded Leafing Embellishment to make them (again, check out the video).  You can see another card HERE where I used the Gilded Leafing Embellishment.

The Rustic Crate stamp set isn’t just for Christmas cards.  Besides the Poinsettia flower, some sunflowers and pumpkins would be lovely for a fall birthday card.

And there’s this lovely leaf image that almost looks like some herbs.  I made this card using the same stamp set and beautiful Gold Cards.

The little “hello” was die-cut from some Gold Foil Paper, also from the Rustic Crate bundle.  I used the same technique of rubbing ink on the card to match the image.

The colours on the leaves/herbs are Balmy Blue, Soft Sea Foam, Granny Apple Green and Lost Lagoon. I coloured all of these with the Blends markers, just like I did with the Poinsettia card.

The gold cards and envelopes were first pictured in the 2023 Holiday Mini Catalogue. I’m happy to say they are on the continuation list and will be available after the Holiday Mini Catalogue ends.  You can find the Brushed Gold Cards & Envelopes here.
