Noel Christmas Card Gift Holder with Gilded Leafing
Do you give out gift cards for Christmas? I like gift cards for those hard-to-buy people like teens or people with lots of “stuff”. But I like making my gift cards a little more special by making a homemade card to accompany them.
I made this pretty, but easy to make, card that holds a matching gift card inside the card.
I used matching paper, ribbon, and gilded leafing on both the outside of the main card and the inside of the little gift card.
These little Gift Card Holders, from Stampin’ Up!, are perfect to decorate and make your own. You could use them for birthday cards and many other occasions. But they are on the Last Chance Retiring Lists (and on sale!), so don’t wait to get them. See more about the Retiring List here.
Stampin’ Up! Gift Card Holders. #162116. $5.78 for 20 envelopes.
I made this card on a recent LIVE video. I do videos every Friday at 3 pm Eastern. Check out some past live-stream videos on my YouTube channel here.
There are two elements on this card that I want to draw your attention to. The first one is that the letters on the card are raised on foam. Rather than use Stampin’ Dimensionals on each die-cut piece, I used a full sheet of foam instead. Add the foam to the back of your stamped cardstock and then die cut. You can see this process in the video. All the supplies I used for this card are listed below.
The other element I wanted to point out on this card was the Gilded Leafing.
Gilded Leafing. #154560. $12.24
I added Gilded Leafing to both the outside of the card and the inside gift card. I used a piece of Tear & Tape and attached the Gilded Leafing to the tape. It’s such a fun technique and so easy to do. Check out the video to see the technique on how to add the Gilded Leafing.
The letters on the outside of the card are from the Joy of Christmas stamp set. And the dies are from the Christmas Classic Dies. The two bundles, Joy of Christmas and Christmas Classics, work well together. And both bundles are on the retiring list as well.
The stamp set I used on the inside of the card was one of my favourites from this year’s Stampin’ Up! Holiday Mini Catalogue: Christmas Classics.
Join me for my next card video this Friday HERE at 3 pm. Eastern.
