Double Time Stamping Technique with Snowflake Wishes
The technique on this Christmas card, called “Double Time” stamping looks harder than it is to create. I used the Snowflake Wishes stamp set, 3 ink pads, and two cardstock pieces.
The measurements on this card are:
- Whisper White card base: 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2 ” (folded in half)
- Bermuda Bay: 4 1/4″ x 3 1/4″
- Whisper White: 4″ x 3″
- Ribbon: 4″ piece
- Ribbon: 8″ piece
I love all the blues on this card and they all go together by repeating the colours in the ink, the cardstock and the ribbon. I’m loving these colours together for Christmas cards, especially with the Snowflake Wishes stamp set. You can see the complete list of supplies I used on this card below.
The colours are:
- Pretty Peacock
- Bermuda Bay
- Pool Party
I made this card with my VIP group, in the Stamp Playground during one of our Friday Live sessions on Facebook. To find out if you qualify to be one of my VIPs, check this out here.
To do the Double Time Stamping Technique you want to start by attaching the smallest piece of Whisper White cardstock to the front of the card with just a little bit of adhesive (so that it holds while you are stamping, but that you can remove it afterwards). I then stamped the saying first with Pretty Peacock ink. Then I stamped a few of the larger snowflake stamps with the same colour.
The trick is to overlap some of the images from the small piece to the card base.
Then I stamped some of the medium size snowflakes with Pool Party ink. Then I removed the small piece of Whisper White. And then I stamped the smallest snowflakes, with Bermuda Bay ink, around the card base only.
To reassemble, the card, you insert a piece of Bermuda Bay cardstock under the stamped Whisper White piece. This effectively covers up any spots where the stamping has missed and makes the illusion that looks like you stamped with the pieces all intact. I finished off this card by using some of the lovely Pool Party Sheer Ribbon and some of the darker coloured Blue Adhesive Backed Gems (they match the Pretty Peacock colour very well). Be sure to pop up the middle layer with dimensionals to complete the look. See all of the supplies below and click on any of the images to go to my Online Store.
