Thank You Berry Much Video
I’m having fun using the Witty-Cisms stamp set and making punny cards. The puns were what first drew me to this new Stampin’ Up! stamp set (from the January-June 2020 Stampin’ Up! Catalogue). But after using it on a few cards, I love how the small images work well for punched out circles or as small elements on a card (check my last few posts to see those card designs).
On this card, I did something “drastic”—I cut my stamps apart so that I could use the strawberry image separate from the words. I say drastic as I know that might shock you, but I actually modify stamps like this all the time. It is a simple cut, using nice sharp scissors, to cut the words apart from the image.
And it is even easier to put the words and the image back together again (as you can see in my video below) to use as a whole piece again. To see the video in full screen click on the YouTube picture in the lower right-hand side.
I wanted the strawberry image separated so that I could stamp it on the background of the card. To create the main image, I stamped the Berry twice. Once directly on the die-cut square, and another time on a piece of scrap. I coloured the strawberry on the scrap paper and then I cut it out with scissors and popped it up using dimensionals. One of the tricks that I show in my video, is that I also coloured around the edges of the flat image so that when you look at the card from the side you see colour, as opposed to white space.
Another thing that is hard to notice on the photo is that I added Wink of Stella to the seeds on the strawberry image so that it has a shimmer to it. You can see all the supplies I used on this card at the end of the is post. And if you are one of my VIP’s you have the complete instruction sheet in our private Facebook Group today. (Read here to see how to become a VIP).
The designer series paper on the card is from the Lily Impressions Designer Series Paper. I love how this paper is green coloured but with almost a wavy pattern on it and with different light and dark shades of green. This paper is in the 2020 Stampin’Up! Sale-a-bration Catalogue. You can get the paper for free with a $60 order from now until the end of March 2020.
The ribbon on this card is also from the January -June 2020 Stampin’ Up! Mini Catalogue. It is the white seam binding and it is the most useful ribbon ever! It ties so easily and it colours well and dries quickly (which you can see in my post tomorrow at www.StampwithJenn.com).
