Rubber Boots & Tulips: Pleased As Punch DSP

Your Creative Connection Blog PostToday I’m showing you a brand new card I made using a new adorable stamp of rubber boots and an older favourite stamp set with tulips.   I made this card for a brand new group that I’m part of called your “Your Creative Connection”.

Your Creative Connection is a group of eight global demonstrator friends who have come together to provide thematic blog posts for you!   We hope to inspire you to connect with us as we share papercraft ideas using Stampin’ Up! products. Each showcase will have a theme, and we will ‘travel’ around the world to connect with our creative friends. This is a twice a month creative showcase which will come to you on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month. Mark your calendars to check it out, so you don’t miss a thing!

Today’s theme is “Pleased as Punch”.

I decided to interpret this theme in two ways.

1) I’m using the new Pleased as Punch Designer Series Paper from the Coordination Promotion

and

2) I’m using a couple of Stampin’ Up! punches on my card.

Be sure to scroll down to see the video and the full list of supplies on this card.

The Pleased as Punch Designer Series Paper is available for a short time only!  It is unique because it matches several punches from Stampin’ Up!, but I used the backside of this paper (which is also pretty).  I used the lovely rainbow striped paper and the Granny Apple Green paper.

The two punches I used on this card are the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch and the Vases Builder Punch.  Both of these punches are in the Stampin’ Up! 2019-2020 Annual Catalogue and I thought they deserved some love.  In fact, the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch is one of my favourite punches to use!

When I saw the little rubber boots in the new Under My Umbrella stamp set (from the June 2020 Mini Catalogue),  I knew wanted to put some flowers in them.  And the little tulips in the Varied Vases stamp set are the perfect scale to fit into the boots!

I love how cute these boots turned out using the Paper Piecing technique and the Pleased as Punch Designer Series paper.  Be sure to check out how I made the boots shiny in the video.

Also, be sure to check out how I did the fun treatment on the ribbon.  Full details in my video and a full list of supplies at the very end of this post.

I can’t wait for you to see how my other demonstrator friends interpreted the Pleased as Punch challenge.

Your next stop on the Your Creative Connection tour is Jennifer Pauli.
