How to assemble the Detailed Birthday Edgelits

Have you noticed the Birthday Cheer Bundle in the Stampin’ Up! Occasions Catalogue?  It has a stamp set, that is great for Birthday cards and a fun die set that can compliment the stamp set images.  The cupcake die actually cuts out the cupcake stamped image.

Birthday Cheer Bundles On this card, you can see there is also a tag cut from the Detailed Birthday Edgelits dies that matches the stamped saying perfectly.  I got this card in a demonstrator card swap from Melva Peters, from Ladysmith, British Columbia.  I like how Melva cut out a second tag to act as a mat for the saying.

I also liked the clean and simple colour palette on this card of just using Berry Burst, Basic Black and Whisper White. To see the full list of supplies for this card, please see the end of this post.

Here’s how to Assemble the Detailed Birthday Edgelits

  1. First you have to cut out the black outline image on the Big Shot.  If you cut it out with the Multipurpose Adhesive sheets then you will have a sticky outline to attach to the coloured cardstock. But if not you can use a liquid glue as well (it is just a bit messier).  To use the Multipurpose Adhesive sheet, lay your cardstock on the adhesive sheet and then die cut the two together.  When you remove the cut pieces, and peel off the backing,  the black die cut will be self adhesive.  You might have to trim the black cardstock to fit your card front.
  2. Poke out all the bits, by using the Big Shot Die Brush and a Paper-Piercing Tool.
  3. Use the same dies to cut out the Berry Burst cardstock, but this time do not poke out the bits.  If any bits fall out, stick them back in the the dies!
  4. Attach the black outline to the coloured cardstock and then attach to the front of the card.
