Colour Combination for Painted Seasons

The Painted Seasons Bundle is a gorgeous new Bundle available during Stampin’ Up’s Sale-a-bration Promotion. You can get the stamp set that I used on this card for FREE during Sale-a-bration. See more about Sale-a-bration HERE. The Painted Seasons stamp set is one of the Stampin’ Up! Distinktive stamps that has photo-realistic style images.  All the images have a special texture that gives added depth and dimension in a single step.

When you go to ink up Distinktive stamps you will want to choose colours that enhance the images.  The good thing is that most of the work is done for stampers as the stamps naturally show variations in colours without having to do anything special.  Notice on the greenery on this card, that even though I stamped it all with one inking using Garden Green ink, the leaves look like they have light and dark colours on them.  The flowers also show both light and dark variations all with one stamping.  This is how I added even more colour to the flowers.

  1. Ink up the flower stamp with Grapefruit Grove ink.
  2. Dab a sponge dauber in Pumpkin Pie ink.
  3. Then dab the sponge dauber on the centre of the inked up stamp.
  4. Give the stamp a little huff (to make sure the ink is moist) and stamp it on the white cardstock.
  5. Repeat with Calypso Coral Ink and a second flower.
  6. Cut out the flowers using the Four Seasons Framelits dies on the Big Shot (see more details below about these Framelits).

I repeated the colour combination on the rest of the card with the background cardstock and the choice of ribbon and the saying. You can see all the products and colours I used at the end of the post.

The saying is from a brand new stamp set only available in March, called More Than Words.  This stamp set is amazing!  It covers off multiple holidays from New Year’s to Christmas, and of course, birthdays like on this card.

The “Wishes” is a special 2-step stamping set. With 2-step stamping, you first ink up the largest image with the lighter colour (here I used Grapefruit Grove) ink. And then you ink up the smaller piece (so the bottom of the Wishes) with the darker colour (here I used Calypso Coral ink).  The More Than Words Stamp Set is part of Stampin ‘ Up!’s Sale-a-bration Coordination promotion.
