A Fun Way to Create Different Cat Looks

One of my favourite things about this set is how you can create different types of cats just by changing your colouring.

In this card, I created a few different looks:

  • a ginger cat
  • a tuxedo cat
  • a calico cat
  • a tabby-style cat

Each one looks completely different, even though they all come from the same stamped image.

It’s such a great way to customise your card depending on who you’re making it for.

Colouring Your Cats with Stampin’ Blends

A few colours I used:

  • Peach Pie
  • Timid Tiger
  • Crumb Cake
  • Smoky Slate
  • Basic Black
  • Pretty in Pink

Tip: You don’t need to overthink the colouring. Even simple shading and a few stripes can completely change the look of each kitten.

✂️ Simple Details That Make a Big Difference

This card is easy to make, but a few small details really elevate the final look:

  • Adding a ground line so the cats don’t look like they’re floating
  • Using a thin border for a clean, finished edge
  • Stamping directly on Designer Series Paper
  • Adding a touch of Wink of Stella

A Simple Ribbon Trick

To soften the look of the ribbon, I used a Stampin’ Blends marker to colour over it.

This tones down the pattern so it doesn’t compete with the background paper—and makes the ribbon a bit easier to work with too.

Why This is a Great Go-To Card Layout

This is one of those layouts you can use again and again.

  • Easy to recreate
  • Perfect for batch cardmaking
  • Flexible with different colours and stamp sets
  • Clean and elegant for many occasions

Don’t Forget the Inside (and Envelope!)

One of my favourite finishing touches is adding a little extra detail:

  • Stamp footprints on the envelope flap
  • Add a small image inside the card

It’s a simple step, but it makes your card feel extra special.
