Stamps & Punches

I’m playing with the Jar of Joy stamp set and the coordinating Jar Punch for a quick, classic Christmas card.
No die-cut machine needed—just punches, a strip of Season of Elegance paper, and a few sweet details.
(Bonus: the Jar Punch also works with the Sweet Jar stamp set—love a multi-tasking tool!)

Cut Smart: Get the Most from Season of Elegance DSP

This beautiful Designer Series Paper is the Season of Elegance Specialty Designer Series Paper and with it’s red and green and gold colour schemes, it is perfect for festive Christmas cards.
Here’s how to cut the paper like I did in my video to get the most out of it.

For the red/gold strip I used 1½” × 4″ pieces. From a 12″ × 12″ sheet:

• Cut three 4″ columns, then
• Slice each column into eight pieces at 1½” → 24 strips per sheet (and there are two of each pattern in the pack = 48 strips).

Step-by-Step (Quick Version)

1. Card base: Crumb Cake, 5½” × 8½”, scored at 4¼”.
2. DSP strip: 1½” × 4″; adhere to the left side.
3. Circle layer: Punch a 2-3/8″ circle from Pecan Pie; pop up with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
4. Jar & gingerbread: Stamp jar outline in Tuxedo Black on Basic White; punch with the Jar Punch.
   Two-step stamp the gingerbread fillers: Crumb Cake (solid) then Pecan Pie (outline) for instant dimension.
5. Jar lid: Punch from Gold Foil (I used Adhesive Sheet on the back—so easy).
6. Background “snow” (optional): Add the tiny dot stamp in Crumb Cake; stamp some full-strength and some stamped-off for depth.
7. Greeting: Stamp “Wishing you the sweetest Christmas” in Black (bottom-right).
8. Trim & embellish: Tie a small bow with the Gold & Silver 1/8″ Trim and add Real Red & White Adhesive-Backed Peppermints in a visual triangle.

Tip: If your cardstock scrap is too small to hold while punching, stick on a Post-it to create a “handle” and slide it into the punch.
