Spotlight on Spotlight on Nature

spotlight on nature

This pretty card was made with the new Spotlight on Nature stamp set from Stampin’ Up!  It’s a beautiful stamp stet that can be stamped with a black ink, like Stampin’ Up!’s Tuxedo Black Memento ink and then coloured with Blends markers  (see more about Blends here) or Pencil Crayons.

SSpotlight on Nature Bundle

Spotlight on Nature is a great stamp set to get if you are brand new to stamping as it has a main image, some greetings and a couple of images you can use for backgrounds.  And you can choose to leave a greeting off your card, like this idea, so that you can use it for multiple occasions like birthdays, thank you, thinking of  you, Happy Mother’s Day and more.

I also love that the images from Spotlight on Nature are quick and easy to colour when stamped.

Colours used on this card are: Poppy Parade,  Parakeet Party and Daffodil Delight.  See the complete list of supplies at the end of this post.

The cardbase and the background of the card on Very Vanilla cardstock. Very Vanilla is a great alternate to Basic White as it is still light enough to stamp on, but it also just changes the look a bit.  And it is perfect with the red and yellow hues on this card.

Here’s some brief directions on how to make this card.  By the way I give complete directions in my newsletter every week for two project ideas.  Get signed up for my newsletter HERE.

  1. Fold Very Vanilla card stock in half and crease to create card base.
  2. On the Stampin Cut & Emboss Machine, emboss the Very Vanilla layer using Quatrefoil Tile Embossing Folder. Adhere to card base using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
  3. Ink flower image using   and stamp onto Very Vanilla layer. Color image using Poppy Parade and Parakeet Party Stampin’ Blends.
  4. Ink flower tops a second time and stamp onto scrap Very Vanilla card stock. Color flowers using Poppy Parade Stampin’ Blends. Cut out.
  5. Ink butterfly using Tuxedo Black Memento ink and stamp onto Very Vanilla scrap. Color using Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends. Cut out.
  6. Adhere flower layer to Poppy Parade layer using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
  7. Wrap Baker’s Twine twice around flower layer and adhere to back using Tear & Tape Adhesive.
  8. Adhere flower layer to card base.
  9. Using Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals, attach flower tops and butterfly to complete card.

I featured the Spotlight on Nature stamp set in my last newsletter (get on my news list here).
