2024-2026 ‘In Color’ Birthday cards with Flowers of Beauty
I made these pretty cards, using Stampin’ Up! Flowers of Beauty Bundle for a recent live video. You can check out the video here.
I used the new 2024-2026 Stampin’ Up! ‘In Color’ Collection for my cards. On each card, I started with the new ‘In Color’ collection and then added some accent colours for the greenery and the ribbons.
I used the Flowers of Beauty Bundle to create the main image for the cards.
The Flowers of Beauty stamp set is a 2-Step Stamping stamp set. To do the 2-Step Stamping Technique, you first stamp the outline image with a darker colour and then stamp the more filled in image with a lighter colour. The Flowers of Beauty stamp set has 2 images each for:
- the greenery stalk
- the leaves
- the large rose flower
- the smaller flower
- the tall arrangement of small flowers
- the trio of small flowers
Using the 2-step stamping technique you can stamp and add colour quickly and easily. This is especially great for anyone who does not like to colour but wants colourful creations.
To create some of the two toned images, like I did with the Pretty in Pink card below, I first stamped the greenery stem with Granny Apple Green ink and the stamped the more filled in version of the stamp with the Soft Sea Foamink. See the full supply list for this Pretty in Pink card at the end of this post.
I then stamped, on a piece of scrap Basic White cardstock, the larger flower image with Pretty in Pink ink. The first time I stamped the image on a scrap piece of paper and then on my Basic White cardstock, without reinking. This is called the “stamping off” technique and makes your image a shade lighter. Stamping off also then allows you to layer the image with the same colour stamped at full strength so in effect one inkpad gives you two colours! On the Pretty in Pink card above, I stamped the flowers by first stamping off with Pretty in Pink ink for the larger flower image. Then with the smaller flower, I stamped over top of the large flower with Pretty in Pink ink.
Finally, I added just a dot of Blackberry Bliss in the centre of each flower with the Blackberry Bliss marker from the Neutrals Stampin’ Write Markers Pack. I wanted that dot of colour to match the greeting. See the full supply list for this card below.
The ‘Happy Birthday’ greeting on the card is from the Stampin’ Up! stamp set So Sincere. This vertical greeting is perfect for this card and it is fun to have a vertical greeting for a change too.
For each of the five cards that I created for this video, I used a combination of either gold or silver or neutral ribbon and matching embellishments.
On the Pretty in Pink card, I used some of the Gold Trim from the Gold & Silver 1/8″ Trim Combo Pack.
I also used the Adhesive-Backed Sparkle Gems to match the Gold Trim. The 2024-2026 In Color Shimmer Gems would also look lovely on these cards.
When I created the Summer Splash and Shy Shamrock cards, I didn’t want to use a green colour as those colours have a lot of green in them already. So I paired it Crumb Cake and Basic Beige together.
On the Peach Pie card, I used Calypso Coral ink for an additional colour. And I again used the Gold Trim for the card and paired it with the Brushed Brass Butterflies accents.
One of my favourite colours from this year’s 2024-2026 In Color’s is the pretty Petunia Pop. It’s a bright purple colour so of course I love it! On this card I used the Silver trim and some of Stampin’ Up’s classic Rhinestone Basic Jewels.
The Petunia Pop and the Pretty in Pink colours also go well together on this card design. You can see how I mixed and matched the colours with this card below using other ‘In Color’ products like the Petunia Pop 3/8″ Bordered Ribbon (this ribbon comes in all of the 5 In Colors) and 2024-2026 In Color Shimmer Gems.
