Simple Scenery Greeting Card Using Hills of Tuscany

If you haven’t checked out the Hills of Tuscany stamp set in Stampin’ Up!’s newest catalogue, it is a scene stealer.  This stamp set has a special texture that gives added depth and dimension in a single step, creating photo-realistic images. I made this card in a recent live video which you can watch here.

The images in the stamp set might look confusing at first, so I’ve labelled them here to help.  You can print out the labelled image here. Hills of Tuscany labelled

The images all work together to create quick and easy scenes.  The images remind me of real scenery in Italy, but you could adapt to make any country type of a scene.

There are a couple of small details that I want to point out on the card.  I used the Stampin’ Up! Water Painters and used them like a marker on some of the stamped images to make them more vibrant.  See the complete list of supplies below.

I also used the matching ink, Copper Clay, on the roof and the twine and the gems.  The accent of the rust type colour with the blues of the card is a great colour combination. And yay that everything matches!  The matching products have always been one of the features of Stampin’ Up! products that I love.

Here’s the colours all together that I used on this scene card. You can see where I used each colour in the video.

The final detail I want to point out is the way I used the Jute Trim. The Copper Clay Jute Trim is thicker than linen thread so it looks wonderful just tied in a knot.  I tied some additional knots in the ends of the trim too.

I loved using the Hills of Tuscany stamp set for a  “thinking of you” card, but it would also be a nice birthday card or just a card to say “hello”.  You can find the Hills of Tuscany stamp set in the Stampin’ Up! January to April Catalogue here.
