Pansy Patch Colour Combinations

I love all the colour combinations you can make with the new stamp set, from Stampin’ Up! Pansy Patch.  Pansies remind me of spring here in Burlington, Ontario as they are one of the few flowers that seem to do well with a bit colder temperatures that we still have in the spring.

I have a little bowl of colourful pansies on my front porch so I wanted to replicate that look.  I used the little bucket stamp from the Simply Succulents stamp set. I coloured this little bucket with my Gray Granite Blends (see more about Blends here) markers to look like a little metal bucket.  I left the colouring a little bit lighter in the middle of the bucket so it looked more cylindrical.  You can see the complete supply list at the end of this post.

To create the flowers in the bucket, I started first with stamping the pink flowers in the background.

To stamp these pansies there are several parts (and see the colour combo below):

  1.  The base layer.  I used the new Polished Pink Colour.
  2. The outline layer. I used Melon Mambo.
  3. The centre part. I use Melon Mambo.
  4. The very middle. I used a gem (see more below), but there is a stamped dot you could used as well.

The other two pansies and the leaves I stamped on a piece of scrap Basic White and then die cut them out with the matching dies.

The leaves were stamped with Granny Apple Green ink. I did the base of the leaves, by stamping first on my scrap paper and then on my Basic White layer to give a lighter shade of green. Then I stamped the accent part of the leaves with my Granny Apple Green ink.

The yellow pansy was stamped with Daffodil Delight and Mango Melody inks. And the orange pansy was Pale Papaya and Calypso Coral inks. I used Pumpkin Pie for the centre of this flower. You can see all of these colour combinations below.

I then used a combination of Dimensionals and Seal (double sided adhesive) to attach the pansies in my bucket.

Pansy Patch PotFor the very centres  of the of the pansies I coloured some of the clear gems from the Elegant Faceted Gems collections with my Pumpkin Pie dark Blends marker.  Just use the bullet tip and let the gem dry for a few minutes before using.

The saying is also from the Pansy Patch bundle. I like the sayings with the mixed fonts. I stamped it with Melon Mambo ink onto the Gray Granite card base.

The yellow patterned paper on the side is from the lovely matching Pansy Petals Designer Series Paper. I just flipped over one of the floral sides to get this lovely pattern.

I love the bright pinks, yellows and oranges of this card. They are perfect for a spring birthday or even a thank you card.  Look at how fun all of these colours look together.
