I love the new Playful Pets Designer Series Paper (DSP) from Stampin’ Up! It is perfect for making your cat and dog cards, whether they are for sympathy cards, welcome cards or more.

This paper has both adorable cat and dog images and then also some fun background images like food bowls, paw prints and “cat” and “dog” sayings like “meow” and “bark”.  And there are all types of dog and cat images that are super easy to cut out and use right on your cards as I did with my cat-themed card.

I made the cat-themed thank you card above to send to my cat’s vet after they took care of her when she was sick. I used some purple accents using Purple Posy, because I love purple and my cat was a girl.  And I was able to cut out a grey striped coloured cat that was similar looking to my cat.  The card base is Smoky Slate and I used Basic Black as a layer.

Using the same type of design, I made this sympathy dog card for a friend, who’s dog had passed away.  I used a piece of the decorative Playful Pets DSP for the back of the card and then I cut out a dog that looked similar to her dog.  Colours on this card are Soft Suede and Real Red.

On this dog card, I added some of the fun Playful Pets Trim.  This trim comes in both a red and white and a black and white.
