What I’d Pick for My Stampin’ Up! Starter Kit

If you’re thinking about becoming a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator, you’ll start with a Starter Kit filled with the products you choose.

Back when I joined, the Starter Kit came with a fixed list of items, and you could only customize the colours. But now? You get to choose anything you want that fits within the kit value—and that’s a huge improvement! It’s perfect for experienced crafters who already own some basics and for beginners who want to build the perfect starter setup.

That said, if you’re newer to stamping and paper crafting, it can feel a bit overwhelming. So here’s how I would break it down.

First, the Value

You pay $135 CAD (with no tax or shipping in most provinces*!) and you get to choose $165 worth of Stampin’ Up! products. That’s already an amazing deal!

But before you shop, think about how you want to use your kit:

  • Is this a personal decision to support your crafting hobby?
  • Or are you interested in sharing and possibly earning money or free products?

*These provinces charge taxes on the kit:  British Columbia (7%), Manitoba (7%), and Saskatchewan (6%).

✂️ If You’re Crafting for You

Start with what you love. Are you a scrapbooker? A birthday card maker? A seasonal crafter?

If You Want to Share Stampin’ Up! With Others

A great starting place is the ✨SIP principle: Stamps, Ink, and Paper.   I also add an “A” to be  SIPA to represent the need for Adhesives too.

As of August 2025, the total value of the items listed below would fit into a demonstrator starter kit!
