4) Place your scored cardstock onto your cutting tool and cut two 1” slits across the score lines in the middle of the cardstock (at approximately 3” & 3.5”) to create the holder for the penNotepadholder2
5) Fold along score lines and push the slit inwards to create the pen holder

8) Run a 4.25” x 5.5” piece of Whisper White cardstock in the Perfect Polka Dots folder through the Big Shot
9) Cut two 1” x 4.5” pieces of cardstock and adhere to the folder front as per example
10) Cut a .5” strip of the same embossed cardstock and roll into a tube. Open the pen and insert the strip into the pen barrel to create a coordinating pen.

BK%20-%20petite%20purses%20w_candyPlace setting decoration or favor

Do you have an upcoming shower, party, luncheon, wedding or other event that would benefit from a cute place setting decoration or favor? Do you like quick and easy AND easily successful? Well then, this is the project for you!

INGREDIENTS:

CARD STOCK: 100730 Whisper White
ACCESSORIES: (113439) Big Shot Die Cut Machine, (120175) Vintage Wallpaper (or any other folder) Textured Impressions Folder, (102300) Bone Folder, (104294) Sticky Tape, Petite Purse Bigz L Die (125606), (103683) Glue Dots

INSTRUCTIONS:BK%20-%20petite%20purse

1. Run a piece of 8-1/2” x 5-1/2” Whisper White card stock through the Big Shot Die Cut Machine using the Petite Purse Bigz L die.
2. Take your die cut petite purse and run it through the Big Shot again, this time using a Textured Impressions Folder. The purse is longer than the folder. Set the purse die into the folder with the bottom and back fold up piece extending outside of the folder. If the folder has a pattern, center that pattern on your die cut piece. Run through Big Shot. Turn the purse die and place it again in the folder, this time still leaving the bottom/base and already dry embossed front outside of the die and dry embossing the back side of the purse. Run this through the Big Shot one more time.
3. Carefully fold all of the creases. If necessary, use a straight edge and a stylus and run along each of the places where there is a crease to strengthen the line. Do not push too hard with the stylus or you will puncture the card stock.BK%20-%202-sticky%20strip
4. “Test fold” the purse into shape. The larger side flaps will lay on top of the 1/4” folded flap. Apply Sticky Strip on the outside edges (they won’t be on the final ‘inside’ of the purse) of the 1/4” folded piece. ALSO apply Sticky Strip on the purse sides where it will cover the 1/4” folded piece. This piece of Sticky Strip will be on the ultimate inside of the purse. Be sure to do that ‘test fold’ or ‘dry run’ to get the ‘picture’ on where to place the Sticky Strip. Lest I have confused you, the larger sides will go over the 1/4” flaps.
5. Before you remove the protective covering of the Sticky Strip, take the top/front flap of the purse and, with your bone folder or the edge of a table, gently break the fibers by pulling the flap across the bone folder or table edge—kind of like curling a piece of ribbon for a package. This will help the front flap to lie in the proper tabbed-inserted position and not fight you.
6. Remove Sticky Strip and adhere sides. Once attached to each other, burnish the Sticky Strip into the card stock using your Bone Folder.
7. Tuck the little flap into the notch (did you notice it???) in the front of the purse.
8. Reopen purse and attach the strap to the inside of the purse using Glue Dots placed on each end of the strap. For what it’s worth, I lay the end of the strap onto the Glue Dot and remove the dot from the packaging paper.
9. This little purse will hold 5 Hersheys Nuggets. They can be wrapped with a 1” x 3” piece of Designer Series Paper.

Scrapbook – Creating simple doesn’t have to be “blah”

ScrapbookpageWho says, “I don’t have time to scrapbook”? Creating simple, yes I said, “simple”, doesn’t have to be “blah”. This page may not look “simple” because it’s so nice, but it really was simple in creating. It literally can take just minutes to put together using a neutral plus just one colour palate, such as for this page.

4. Stamp words in Pretty In Pink on 3/4″ strips of Whisper White Card Stock. Snip ends to create a “banner”. The word “Wonderful” came from the greeting, “Wonderful You”, with the “you” snipped away. Attach to each of the flowers. Using Stampin’ Dimensionals in the back of each of these pieces, apply these pieces onto your page.

Reflection3Technique – Reflection Technique

Lovely As a Tree” is a favorite stamp set that has been around forever! It is one that is versatile and timeless. The Reflection Technique is one that can be used beautifully with these trees for many occasions and purposes. Who doesn’t appreciate a scene of trees along the water’s edge?

SUPPLIES
Stamps: 115026(w), 127793(c) Lovely As a Tree
Ink: 126974 Early Espresso, 126962 Marina Mist, 126959 Wild Wasabi
Paper: 108641 Wild Wasabi, 119686 Early Espresso, 120953 Crumb Cake, 122959 Watercolour Paper
Accessories: 114323 Window Sheet, 101610 Stamping Sponges

INSTRUCTIONS

Reflection1
1. Using a piece of watercolour paper cut to the size layer that you want, stamp the row of trees up toward the top of the paper using Early Espresso ink.
2. Have a piece of window sheet at hand, just large enough for the stamped image. Stamp the same row of trees onto this piece of window sheet using Early Espresso ink. Turn the stamped window sheet so the trees are upside down and then turn over so the wet ink is facedown. Lay the window sheet down onto the watercolour paper lining up the base of the trees in a mirror image. The tops of the trees may not necessarily fit on the paper, depending on your project.

Reflection2
3. Keeping the window sheet in place, rub the stamped images with your fingers to transfer the ink from the window sheet to the watercolour paper. Lift the window sheet off carefully. You should have a lighter mirror image of the trees, as if they are reflected in the water. You can wipe off the window sheet when you are finished and reuse.
4. Using a quarter of a Stamping Sponge, pick up some ink and lightly sponge in the grass under the trees, the water, and the sky. Just using the sponge keeps the ink from the trees from smearing. Use a light touch with the sponging and go back over for a darker colour.
5. Add your watercolour paper to a card base and layers and add a sentiment if desired.
