How to Use the Flowers Fair Stamp | 2 Easy Floral Card Ideas (Stampin’ Up!)

How to Use the Flowers Fair Stamp | 2 Easy Floral Card Ideas (Stampin’ Up!)

If you love finding ways to get more from your supplies, this one is for you.

Today’s project uses the Flowers Fair stamp to create a soft, colourful floral card — and then turns that one stamped image into two separate cards.

Stamp once and get two cards!

Flowers Fair Stamp + Supplies

Flowers Fair stamp set by Stampin’ Up used for floral card making

This stamp is a large background-style image, which makes it perfect for:

  • Full card fronts
  • Cutting into smaller panels
  • Mixing and matching sentiments

Because it doesn’t include greetings, you can pair it with anything in your collection. I used the Simply Said Stamp Set (which was on the Last Chance List and has now sold out!)

Make 2 Cards from One Stamped Image

Floral card front made by cutting one stamped panel in half

After stamping and colouring your floral image, you can cut the panel in half to create two coordinating cards.

This is one of my favourite ways to:

  • Save time
  • Save supplies
  • Create matching designs for different occasions

Simple Colouring with Stampin’ Blends

Floral card coloured with Stampin’ Blends in Fresh Freesia and Petunia Pop

For this card, I kept the colouring simple:

  • Start with a light base (Soft Sea Foam)
  • Add colour to the flowers (Fresh Freesia + Petunia Pop)
  • Add a darker shade for a bit of depth

No need to be precise here — a slightly loose look gives a soft, blended finish.

Add Texture with Embossing

Embossed cardstock background with sanding technique for added texture

One of my favourite parts of this card is the texture.

I used the Beautiful Patterns Embossing Folder, then:

  • Added white ink over the raised areas
  • Sanded the two-tone cardstock to reveal the white core

This adds just enough detail to make the card really stand out.

Card Variations to Try

The Mother’s Day card has no background embossing and features a Fresh Freesia card base with a Petunia Pop cardstock mat.  The greeting was stamped with two colours and has the same sized circle used, just off set to create the illusion of a layer.

Alternate floral card without embossing showing softer background

The “Birthday” card has the opposite colour scheme with the Fresh Freesia cardstock as the mat and the Petunia Pop cardstock as the card base.  And this time the two circles are different sizes.  The background is also embossed in this version (see what folder I used below in my list of supplies).

Once you start playing with this stamp, there are so many options:

  • Change your colour palette
  • Skip the embossing for a softer look
  • Use different sentiments for birthdays, thank you, or Mother’s Day

The colours I used on all versions of the card are Fresh Freesia, Petunia Pop, Soft Sea Foam, Granny Apple Green and Basic White.
