Adorable Easter Bunny Card with Stampin’ Up’s Easter Basket Bundle

easter bunny gingham with heart

In a recent Friday Live, I made an adorable Easter bunny card from start to finish using Stampin’ Up!’s Easter Basket Bundle. If you like to craft ahead for the seasons (and I know stampers do!), this sweet project is perfect for Easter, spring, or even a baby card.

In the video, I showed how to keep the bunny mostly white while adding subtle shadows and blushy cheeks, created a soft “sky” background with ink blending, and finished everything off with glossy Easter Joy Specialty Designer Series Paper and a touch of gingham ribbon.

Stamp and colour the bunny

I stamped the bunny using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink, which works perfectly when colouring with Stampin’ Blends.  See more about Blends Markers here. Since it’s a white bunny, I kept the colouring minimal.

Here’s what I did:

  • Added a tiny dot of Bubble Bath (light) Blends Marker on each cheek

  • Used the Colour Lifter to soften it into a gentle blush

  • Added small shadows with Smoky Slate (light) Blends Market behind the ears, along the back, under the neck, and near the leg

  • Softened any areas that felt too dark with the Colour Lifter

Then I die cut the bunny with the matching dies. If the die cut shifted slightly, I trimmed the edge with scissors to even it out.

Add a soft sky background

I used Balmy Blue ink and a Blending Brush to add a light “sky” effect on the Basic White layer. I started off the cardstock and worked my way in to keep the blending soft.  See the complete supply list below.

If a spot looked too dark, I simply blended it out or flipped the cardstock over and started again.

Add the glossy Designer Series Paper and ribbon

I added a strip of Easter Joy Specialty Designer Series Paper to the card front. Because this paper has a glossy finish, I used a generous amount of adhesive.

Before attaching the layer, I wrapped it with Balmy Blue Gingham Ribbon, which adds a simple but pretty detail.

Build the greeting and focal point

I stamped the greeting on Bubble Bath Cardstock and layered it over one of the die-cut shapes from the bundle to create a small banner.

I popped up both the greeting and the bunny with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

To finish the card, I added a tiny heart from the Loose Valentine’s Assortment and tucked it into the bunny’s paw. It’s a small detail, but it really makes the card.

Bonus Easter Inspiration

I also shared a couple of swap cards in the video that were made with the same Easter Basket Bundle. It’s always fun to see how different stampers use the same products in creative ways.

At the end of the video, I gave a quick peek at the Easter Time Mix & Match Ephemera Pack. These punch-out pieces are perfect if you want to make Easter cards without stamping. You can mix and match the images and greetings to create lots of quick cards.
