Notes of Nature ~ Vintage Gatefold Card

I used the beautiful Notes of Nature stamp set from Stampin’ Up! to create this vintage looking card with a unique fancy fold.  You can watch how I created this card here in this video.

The Notes of Nature Bundle is the perfect set when you want to create vintage looking cards as it has lots of pieces and piece that you can mix and match.  Sadly this bundle is on the Stampin’ Up! Retiring list and will no longer be available after April 30th (or sooner if it sells out sooner).

You can see all of the items on the retiring list here.

This week is really the last chance to get any of those items.

The stamps like the little flowers, and the grid and the dots are all perfect elements to add to a vintage type card.  The best way to put them all together is in a collage type of design like I’ve done here with this card.

I’ve also die-cut a few elements out using the matching Notes of Nature dies.

I love the brown toned colours for a vintage card like this using Crumb Cake and Pecan Pie. Especially when they are offset with just a hint of a pale pink from the Bubble Bath flower to the little bit of shading in the ribbon.

Of course you have to do some shading and sponging on a vintage card and I did that with Stampin’ Ups’s Blending Brushes.  Finally, I also added some of the fantastic Brushed Brash Butterflies embellishments for a bit of shine. You can see all of the techniques I added to this homemade card  here in this video.

You could use a vintage looking card like this for many occasions, like a birthday, thank you, sympathy or even just a thinking of you.  Be sure to check out the complete supply list for my  Notes of Nature card below (especially since the stamps and dies are on the retiring list).
