Punny Taco Fiesta Cactus

punny taco fiesta cactus front

When the Stampin’ Up! January to April Catalogue came out, I just had to have the Taco Fiesta stamp set. First of all, the images are super cute!!  There are little face stamps you can add to the stamped images like the moustache and eyes that I added to this cactus card.  See a video on how I made this card here.

The Taco Fiesta stamp set also has cute punny sayings (my favourite) like the one I used on this card “You SPICE up my life”.  I love how you can mix and match all of the images together to create different types of cards.

I based my colour scheme for this card from the Sale-a-bration paper called Dandy Designs and specifically this sheet of paper with its combination of blues and greens (see the complete supply list at the end of this post)

DANDY DESIGNS DSP BLUEYou can get this paper for free with a $120 order up until the end of February 2023.  The Dandy Designs Designer Series Paper  is my favourite Sale-a-bration item (see more about Sale-a-bration here) as it has 48 sheets (4 each of 12 double sided designs) with bright, fun colours.  Here’s a pic that shows a bit of each of those awesome designs.  I love the small patterns that are perfect for cardmakers.

  • I die-cut out the stitched circle and stamped the hat on the circle with Tuxedo Black Memento ink.
  • I also stamped the hat on a post-it note and cut it out to create a “mask”.
  • Lay the cutout mask on top of the stamped hat and then stamp the cactus over top of it. Now it looks like the hat is on the cactus!
  • I coloured the image with the Stampin’ Up! Blends markers (see the list of colours below). I also used the
