Angled Cut Card with Designer Series Paper
I love a card that has a different angle cut or design. I made this card using the wonderful new Hues of Happiness Designer Series Paper. The angled cut card looks great with this pretty Designer Series Paper. The Designer Paper’s design has flowers in various colours across a rainbow spectrum and it looks like a puzzle when cut on this fun angle.
This is the page that I used for my my angle cuts.
I love how the flowers graduate from purple to blues to yellows, pinks, oranges and then reds. I actually made a few different cards and made some with the red, pink ad yellow combination. And then I made some other with the blue and purple combination. You can see the full set of cards at the end of this post.
In addition the flowers and the leaves on my cards were all cut out from another page of the Happiness Hues Designer Series Paper (see the complete supply list at the end of this post). The matching dies cut out of all of these pieces. There are several sheets of this paper with the various coloured flowers so you can mix and match however you like.
Look at all the variations I was able to create using only the two pieces of paper shown above.
How to Cut the Angle Cut Designer Series Paper
To get the angled cut card with the Designer Series Paper, I cut the paper first into 4″ strips. Then I cut the panels like this:
- 4″ x 1-3/4″
- 4″ x 2″
- 4 x 1-3/4″
It’s important to cut the panels in order so that you maintain the rainbow order in the finished card. Then I measured 1/4″ on one end and used my Paper Trimmer to cut from that mark to the opposite corner.
Here’s a card sketch that I’ve made on how you cut the Designer Series Paper.
I demonstrated this card in a video for a recent Facebook Live. You can view that video and see how to do the angle cut HERE.
Here’s another sketch showing how the finished Designer Series Paper will look.
I think using an angle cut is such an easy way to give a card different look, but still make a lovely card.
