Pretty in Pink Whimsy Christmas Card
If you like non traditional colours for Christmas cards, then you’ll love this all pink Christmas card.
This card was made with the Whimsical Trees bundle. It is a fun stamp set and die set that is perfect for modern Christmas cards.
The Whimsical Trees stamp set has several tree stamps, some ornaments, and some cute sayings. The one on this card is “May the Love of the Season Warm your Home and fill your Heart“. I love the mixed font on this saying and how the words “LOVE” and “HOME” stand out.
The matching dies, Christmas Trees Dies, have several dies to out the stamped trees and ornaments. Plus there are some other dies for other sizes of trees and some teeny tiny ornaments to decorate the trees! Did you know that when you get the stamp set and matching dies together as a bundle that you get 10% off. See the link to the bundle below at the end of this post.
I got this card in a demonstrator card swap from Melva Peters of British Columbia. I love how Melva just kept her card all pinks and white colour. The main pink colour on the card is the ‘In Color’ called Polished Pink. You might be wondering where the other pink colour came from as Stampin’ Up does not have a pink that colour. The lighter pink colour was by painting watercolour paper with the Polished Pink ink. You can see the full supply list at the end of this post.
To the colour the watercolour paper, simply squeeze your closed ink pad. This will deposit some colour inside your ink pad lid. Then use your water painter to pick up that colour and then paint the paper. If you need a more intense colour you can always use add a drop of ink refill to the lid. Just be sure to wipe off the lid with a paper towel after you are done.
The sparkly snowflake on the card is an iridescent foil snowflake from the Wonderful Snowflakes package. They come already die-cut and ready for you to start using them. There are 24 in the package!
The sparkly snowflake matches the sparkle in the White Glittered Organdy Ribbon. I love the mix of the Polished Pink Ribbon and the Organdy Ribbon together.
The background of the card has been embossed with the Time Worn Type 3D Embossing Folder (this is easily my newest favourite folder in the Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalogue).
I’ll have another Pink Christmas card to show you this week! And if you want to see more Christmas cards, be sure to sign up for my newsletter so you get my 12 Weeks of Christmas emails.
