Sweet Ice Cream Fun Fold Card
The new Sweet Ice Cream Bundle from Stampin’ Up! is such a fun stamp set for making cards. I made this fun fold card for my VIP clients on our Facebook page last week. It is a quick and easy fold to do (see the measurements below). Plus the stamping is quick and easy too.
The background part of the card has the matching Sweet Ice Cream Designer Series Paper. The front of the card that pops up has the stamped ice cream cone. This bundle comes with a punch that punches out the top of the ice cream and the cone. Punches are so easy to use…no dies required!! So you can put together a triple scoop, like on this card in no time!
Ice Cream cards are great for all types of people, not just kids and for all types of occasions. Use a card like this for a birthday card, a pick up type of card, a congratulations card. It would even be perfect card to send with a gift certificate to your local ice cream parlour.
This is a “fun fold” or some people call it a “fancy fold” card. It is fun to make a different fold on a homemade card. On this card I wanted the Ice Cream to really pop out so this fun fold is perfect. And there is still lots of room to write a personal greeting on the back of the card. For another “fun fold” card idea, check out this post.
Here’s the scoring measurements for this card. For the supplies list, please see the end of this post.
Score the Purple Posy card stock on the long side at:
- 1 7/8″
- 3″
- 5 1/2″
- 6 5/8″
Just a quick note too that I used my Stampin’ Up! Paper Trimmer to do the scoring, but the Simply Scored Scoring Tool will also work.
Once you have scored the card, fold the two end flaps up and the middle ones down so you get a card base like what is pictured below.
The middle part of the card has a piece of Pool Party card stock and a piece of Basic White that I stamped on. These measurements are:
- Pool Party: 5 1/4″ x 2 1/4″
- Basic White: 5″ x 2″
I stamped the ice cream cone with Crumb Cake ink and then stamped the waffle cone part over top with Soft Suede ink. This is called a 2-step stamping set as there are 2 (or more) stamps needed to create the image. For the triple scoops, I stamped the top one with Rococo Rose ink, the next with Pool Party ink and the final one with Highland Heather ink. The stamp is pretty unique in that it has a natural white highlight built into the stamp.
Also on the front panel, I’ve stamped some of the dots (that come in the stamp set) with Highland Heather ink. I’ve stamped some of them full strength and some of them I’ve stamped with out re-inking. I like this look because the “stamped off” version of Highland Heather is closer to the Purple Posy card base (there isn’t a Purple Posy ink).
And the final thing that I’ve added to this card is some of the yummy Ice Cream Corner Sprinkles.
These sprinkles seriously look so much like real sprinkles! I selected just the Pool Party and Purple Posy sprinkles to make them match my card. I used Stampin’ Up!’s Fine-Tip Glue Pen to attach the sprinkles.
