Gnome for the Holidays
Have you checked out the Stampin’ Up!’s Gnome for the Holidays stamp set? It has some adorable little holiday gnome images and a sweet little treehouse AND some fun punny sayings to match. I love the saying “There’s no place like Gnome for the Christmas Season”.
This adorable Gnome for the Holidays card was made by a demonstrator on my team, Laurie Alexander, from Burlington, Ontario. I loved how Laurie used just the hat of the one gnomes to stamp on the Pear Pizzazz cardstock by just stamping around the edge of the cardstock.
Laurie also used the fabulous tag dies from the North Pole Wonder Dies. I can’t tell you much I love these dies and use them. See another card here using the North Pole Wonder Tag elements. The Gnome image was coloured with Blends markers (see more about Blends here) using the same colours as the Designer Series Paper and the ribbon. You can see the complete supply list for this card at the end of this post.
There are no dies for the Gnome for the Holidays stamp set, so Laurie, hand-cut out the gnome. It’s usually a little fussy to do this, hence the reason we call this “fussy cutting”, but it is worth it sometimes to pop up the image.
There are two other stamping features on this card that I want to point out to you. One is the shiny ornament accent. It is coloured first with Blends markers and then there is a coat of shiny coat of Shimmery Crystal Effects on it. This is like a clear paint with sparkle in it.
The other feature is the Real Red embossed mat on the card front. Laurie embossed with Stampin’ Up!’s Subtle Embossing Folder. Like its name, when you emboss on cardstock, you get a subtle look, with just a little bit of texture.
If you want to see more of this stamp set, come check out my Facebook Live this week. On Thursday, October 22nd at 2 pm. Eastern, I’ll be making a card with the Gnome for the Holidays stamp set on my Facebook page. Click here to like my Facebook page so you’ll get reminders of when I go live.
