Watercolour Spritz Technique
In honour of International Women’s Day, I thought I’d post this gorgeous card from Karen Duke of Spruce Grove, Alberta, using the lovely women stamps from the Stampin’ Up! set Beautiful You.
Karen did this amazing watercolour technique using her clear block. She used her stamp pads to ink up a clear block and then spritzed it with water to get this gorgeous background.
Watercolour Spritz Technique
- Smear the Crushed Curry ink down the middle of the block on a diagonal.
- Then dab Sweet Sugarplum ink and Tangerine Tango in the corners of the block.
- Spritz the block with water in the Stampin’ Up! Spritzer until little dots appear on the block.
- Use the block like a stamp and stamped it on the shimmery cardstock.
- Let the paper dry (or heat it with your heat tool).
- Stamp your image with Basic Black ink.
Each paper will turn out just a little differently, but all gorgeous. I want to try this spritzing technique with blue and pink colours and the lighthouse from the High Tide stamp set too. All supplies, including the Stampin’ Up! spritzers are listed below.
