Guest Artist: Jen Kibitlewski: Bird on a Branch

This gorgeous card was made by a client of mine from Brampton, Ontario, Jen Kibitlewski.  This set is so elegant and I love Jen's colour choices!  Check out the detail on the bird…it is sparkly, multi-coloured and cut out!   And Jen is spoiling us by giving full instructions too.  Thanks Jen for everything!

Directions:

  1. Stamp speckles on Sahara Sand card front in Always Artichoke ink.  Ink the edges of the card if desired.
  2. Cut a panel of Chocolate Chip cardstock, and run through the Paper Crimper.  Use Scallop Punch to create a border.
  3. Adhere a scrap of Sage Shadow to the back of the Chocolate Chip layer.  Wrap with twill tape and adhere to card front.
  4. Using Chocolate Chip ink, stamp branches on Whisper White layer.
  5. Ink flowers with Sage Shadow classic ink.  Using markers in Always Artichoke and Chocolate Chip, randomly colour in some flowers to create a multi-coloured look.  Using a deep breath, exhale on the rubber to re-moisten all of the ink, and then stamp the flowers over a branch.  Repeat for each branch.
  6. Ink bird with Sage Shadow craft ink, and use Chocolate Chip marker to add highlights to the tail.  Stamp on a scrap of Whisper White paper.  Sprinkle with Heat and Stick powder, and heat just until wet.  Quickly pour over with Dazzling Diamonds glitter, then re-heat with heat tool to set.  Trim around the bird, leaving a small white border.
  7. Using a Dimensional, place bird on branch as desired.
  8. Ink only "Thinking" on the sentiment stamp with Chocolate Chip ink, and use stamp a ma jig to place.  Clean stamp thoroughly, then repeat with "of you".
  9. Ink edges of white layer with Chocolate Chip if desired, adhere to Always Artichoke panel, and place on card front with Dimensionals.
