Your Creative Connection ~ Using Tags on Cards

Your Creative Connection Banner

It’s the 2nd Wednesday of the month and time for a showcase of tag card ideas from my demonstrator friends from Your Creative Connection. This week’s theme is “Tag You’re It”.

Tags on cards are the perfect way to frame up an image that is smaller. You can create a little tag to add to the front of your card and add it as the focal point on your card.

field of flowersYou can keep them pretty plain and simple as I did on this tag, using the Field of Flowers stamp set and the sentiment from the Lovely You stamp set.  I just stamped the tag and used one of my favourite punches, the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch to add a decorative edge to the tag.  Plus this punch punches out the hole too!  I then added just a little bit of ribbon and trim to the tag.  Or you could make the tag really fancy (with layers and embellishments)  and keep the background pretty neutral.

The card base is a regular card base, but I cut 1″ off the front panel.   I added one inch of the fabulous In Good Taste Designer Series Paper to the inside of the card so that whether the card is open or closed you see the paper.

You can see another card HERE where I’ve used some more of the In Good Taste Designer Series Paper on the entire background of the card.

Because my tag tends to flop open a bit on its own, I added a closure piece.  I used the Tasteful Labels Dies to cut out a little circle and I embossed it with a word from the Field of Flowers stamp set.  I then added dimensionals on just the right side of the circle.  I closed the card and added the circle and it works as a little latch to keep the card closed.

I’ll be showing how I made this card tomorrow at 1 pm. EST time on my Facebook Page.  Be sure to like my page to get notification of me being LIVE.
