Masking with Avant Garden

Avant Garden is one of the most popular picks this Sale-a-bration.  It is no surprise that even though this stamp set is mostly flowers, that it was popular because it has lots of versatility.  In the Avant Garden stamp set, there are two different types os flower, both a watercolour looking one and a line art flower.   With the line art flower, you can stamp the image and colour it in.  Or in the case of the last sample in this post, you can stamp the watercolour image over top of it to colour! In addition, there are sayings in this set and I love the stamp with the  little sprinkle of dots (great for backgrounds).

Avant Garden Stamp Set from Sale-a-bration 2017

In this first Avant Garden card, I got this idea I saw online from fellow demonstrator Ann Clemmer and we made this at one of my recent classes.  We first stamped the pink part of the flowers on the card and then again on a post it note (try to get down near the sticky part of the post it in note).  Then we cut out the post it note and placed it over the flowers.  Then it is easy to line up the stems and flowers and give the appearance of them being behind the stamps.  See all the colours etc in my supply list at the end of the this post.

To qualify for a Sale-a-bration freebie like Avant Garden, you just place a $60 order before the end of March 2017.  In fact, EVERY $60 order gets you a free items and there are lots to choose from.  You can check out my summary page here of all the items or see all the current Stampin’ Up! catalogues here.

The last couple of card examples are straight from Stampin’ Up!’s catalogues!
